Easter Celebrations

We certainly got into holiday mode today by coming to nursery in our pyjamas to help support Isobel Mair School’s very own Special Olympian Rhythmic Gymnast, Amy Clark.

We have raised £74.39 for Amy to help support her venture to the GB National Games.

In addition to our pyjama day, we welcomed a very special fluffy friend who delivered some Easter Treats to all our children, courtesy of the Parent Council – many thanks from all our delighted boys and girls.

Nursery will reopen after the Spring Break on Tuesday 18th April. Have a wonderful holiday.

Chinese New Year 2017

Chinese New Year is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar.

Here are a some photos of our children enjoying a Chinese themed snack consisting of noodles rice crispy seaweed lychees and green tea! The children worked really hard to handle the chop sticks which caused a lot of hilarity! Children improved hand skills and hand eye coordination using the chop sticks and also when pouring their own Chinese Green Tea from the beautiful Chinese tea pot.

The children were inspired by the Chinese New Year decorations, newspaper and calendar and used the items to begin putting their own ideas and thoughts on paper….some children had a go at writing some Chinese characters and we all practised saying ‘Kung Hei Fat Choi’.

Christmas Parties

Our Christmas Parties will be held on Thursday 19th December.

Some parent’s have mentioned other nurseries reduce their hours to accomodate organisation of Christmas parties – this is not the case for children attending IMFC therefore children should attend their usual session times i.e. from 8.45 – 11.45am or from 12.45 – 3.45pm

Children should feel free to wear whatever they are comfortable in; by all means come along in your favourite party outfit!

I wonder if a very special visitor will come along on Thursday?

Our IMFC Christmas Nativity

Thank you to all parents, family and friends who came along to see the children perform ‘It’s A Baby!’ – this year’s Nativity.

I am sure you will agree the children did a wonderful job retelling the Christmas Story.

Thank you to all who helped escort the children from the Family Centre along to Newton Mearns Baptist Church – your help is much appreciated.

We have taken some photographs from the Nativity  however the photo’s have turned out very dark and in most it is difficult to see who is who which is a great shame.

If you have any photo’s of the Nativity; morning or afternoon that you would be happy to share please email them to me at:

Many Thanks!
