Our Summer Playscheme closing date is midday on Tuesday 26th May. If you would like to apply for a place you MUST have your application handed in by this date as late applications will NOT be considered.

Enterprise Event

Children will be hosting their Enterprise Event on Friday 5th June.

Please support your child and help celebrate their achievements by coming along to this event.

Children learn many skills through participating in enterprising learning experiences. This event has stemmed from children’s interest and has progressed naturally through the planning stages, to design and production.

Our educational enterprise learning has:

provided opportunities for children to think and act in enterprising ways
provided a clear focus on core and employability skills, and the ability to transfer these to different contexts, in particular the world of work
provide opportunities for work-related experiences, both in and outwith the playroom
adopted an enterprising approach to learning and teaching
promoted positive attitudes
provided opportunities for children to develop skills such as problem solving, decision making and evaluating risks
provided entrepreneurial experiences.

Our children can’t wait to share their learning with you – please pop along on Friday 5th June!

Bookbug Week 2015

Bookbug Week this year will take place between 18th and 24th May, with hundreds of free story, song and rhyme events for babies and young children happening across the country.

The theme this year is Bookbug’s Big bedtime Story.

We will be offering Bookbug sessions throughout Bookbug Week.

Waitrose Community Matters

We are delighted to be accepted as the Waitrose “Community matters” donation this month.

So please take every opportunity to drop your wee green tokens in the bucket for IMS&FC. This will allow us to buy some summer science equipment for our outdoor learning areas.

Crookfur Primary Transition Visits

Cara Playroom Parent Consultation Meeting Appointment Planners are available at the registers for each coloured group. If you have not yet chosen an appointment time – please speak to your child’s keyworker asap.

Dates are as follows:

Red Group – Thursday 7th May

Blue Group – Friday 8th May

Yellow Group – Tuesday 12th May

If your date doesn’t suit – we have added another date on Thursday 14th May.

Please ensure you organise a date for consultation.

HOLIDAY REMINDER

The Family Centre will be closed on Tuesday 4th May for the May Day Holiday. We re-open on Tuesday 5th May at the usual time.

The Family centre will also be closed over the May Bank Holiday Weekend – closed on Friday 22nd May and Monday 25th May. Tuesday 26th May is an In-Service Day therefore the Family Centre will re-open on Wednesday 27th May.
