Each year, Primary 6 classes at Giffnock Primary enter the Virgin Money Make £5 Grow competition.

Virgin Money provides lesson plans, tools, resources and a loan of £5 per pupil to help them learn about enterprise by starting a small business and making their money grow.

Pupils are split into groups and pool their money to design and develop a product or a service. Pupils then decide how they will market their product or service and then go out to actually sell products in the community. Any profit made is eventually donated to charity.

Everybody worked really hard and came up with lots of business suggestions, learning a lot about working together to make and sell a product.

Jackie and Sarah from Virgin Money in Giffnock have been helping with this project and today they came to school to meet the three winning groups. Each group started with £5 and came up with some great ideas, working hard to turn £5 into a lot more!
