The Sungazers have been having fun in the rainy weather recently. We have experienced a range of weathers from rainstorms to hailstones, especially on our local walk on Friday! Here is some photos of us dancing in the rain, splashing in the puddles and feeling the raindrops touch us.

The Sungazers have been getting into the Christmas spirit with crafts, cookery and science experiments. We have discovered that wraps are a firm favourite in the Sungazers so we made our own simple Christmas pizza wraps.
We had a go at making Snow by adding water to a ready-made mix. We had fun mixing, moulding and experimenting. We also enjoyed trying the Exploding Snowman experiment. It was very exciting but luckily it didn’t explode on any of us!
Happy Friday everyone!

The Sungazers have been busy celebrating and learning about St. Andrews Day. We enjoyed a Scottish food tasting session where we tried Porridge, Tattie scones, Shortbread & Irn Bru, and shared our opinions with each other. We had some strong favourites within the class & some foods that we disliked too. I’m sure you will be able to tell from our photos which ones we liked/disliked!

The Sungazers have been learning more about the different types of weather that we experience, especially going into Winter! To record how much rain will fall over the next couple of weeks, we have made Rain Gauges and placed them in the school Sensory garden. We will measure our results regularly and hopefully they won’t be too full!
Have a great weekend everyone!

The Sungazers have had a fantastic day raising awareness for Children in Need. We learned about why we raise awareness and money to help those in need. We looked at different ways we could make a difference & what makes us special! Here’s some snapshots from our class activities:

The Sungazers have been busy this week learning about Remembrance Day. We visited the monument on our local walk and could see some poppies through the glass doors of the Kilmarnock War Memorial. We then made our own Poppy Wreathes and lay them outside the classroom today.

The pupils in the Sungazers set up their own class cafe this term with a Farm to Fork twist as part of our theme. We added some freshly prepared snacks to the menu using farm fresh produce. Each week, the pupils have taken on different roles to ensure the cafe runs smoothly. Here are some photos of our responsible citizens fulfilling their roles:

The Sungazers have been enjoying Dance over the past couple of weeks. We have been working on listening skills, following instructions, and copying actions to move our bodies. Here is some of the fun things we have been doing:

We’ve had a busy week in the Sungazers class! We learned about Road Safety and even learned a rap to remind us how to stay safe when crossing the road. We had some good poses:
We also learned about how to keep ourselves safe on Bonfire Night. To celebrate the 5th November, we made some healthy (and some not so healthy) edible sparklers!
Have a lovely Bonfire Night & weekend everyone!
