Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball..in the Cookery Room!!

YES .a. The sun came out this week so we managed to get out and play on the playground equipment, make some bubbles and drawing with chalk on the pavement!!!

We were Confident Individuals and heated up some meatballs and boiled spaghetti – and tried eating it like Lady and the Tramp!

We enjoyed some time playing with different musical instruments.

We continued with our ICE Pack Theme – How Do I Feel? And read the story of Hugless Douglass, and then watched some Inside Out, played with the sensory material and made a new feelings poster for our room.

FAOL – Transition Teamwork!

The plastic bottle greenhouse is fairly taking shape!

The Transition boys worked hard this week, cleaning and helping to cut a LOT of plastic bottles for the  construction. The pupils created a mini ‘production line’ which consisted of taking off labels – removing plastic lids – washing the bottles – drying the bottles – cutting off the bottom part – sorting into plastic bags… phew!

Excellent turn taking, listening and support of peers was witnessed during this exercise.  Absolutely wonderful work from these effective contributors and responsible citizens!

IDL – creating paper mache turnips

Effective contributors/successful learners

The Snowdrops have been exploring different textures to art materials to create a turnip which we have been hearing about in our theme story The Enormous Turnip.  Everyone helped to tear strips of newspaper and then we mixed flour and water to make a mache paste.  We painted balloons with mache and covered the balloon in strips of newspaper.  It has been very messy fun!

RRS – New Friends (Article 15) Confident Individuals/Successful Learners

The Snowdrops have been looking at large photos of their new class friends.  We have all created friendship boards to take home and a large class poster.  The Snowdrops can recognise our Willowbank school badge and our class snowdrop picture.  We have been practising saying or signing all the names of our class friends too.
