We are extremely grateful to our wonderful Parent Council who were successful in being granted funding from the Small Wind Farms, which was used to cover the cost of swimming lessons for the whole school.
Swimming is a life skill, and water safety is something we, as a school, are keen to promote and support across all stages.
We are very fortunate that we have a super swimming facility within walking distance of our school.
Each child in our school was granted a 4 week block of swimming lessons at no cost to our families, something we know everyone will be extremely grateful for.
We were extremely impressed with the number of participants we had in each class at their weekly lesson and know our children had lots of fun taking part.
Today we celebrated the end of ‘Walk to School Week’ with a brightly coloured ‘Shorts and Shades’ theme! (We think we planned it perfectly as we got to enjoy the last of the super sunshine today!)
Thank you to everyone for their kind chocolate donations towards this day. Our Parent Council intend to use these to make hampers for our Summer Fayre on Saturday 7th June.
This week is Walk to School Week 2025 and the JRSO’s are encouraging everyone to walk to school (where possible).
In partnership with our Parent Council, we invite everyone to wear brightly coloured ‘Shorts and Shades’ for a Dress Down Day on Friday 23rd Mayto celebrate the end of Walk to School Week.
We ask that to take part in Dress Down Day, you bring a chocolate donation which will be used to make hampers for our upcoming Summer Fayre.
Walk to School Week competition entries are also due in on Friday. Good luck, everyone! 🙂
At both performances, our Parent Council will be selling class crafts which we have left over from our Christmas Fayre. Bring some pennies along with you, you are guaranteed to see something you will like!
We are so excited for our whole school Pantomime Trip to the Gaiety Theatre in Ayr tomorrow to see Mother Goose!
We are very grateful to the New Cumnock Development Trust for their kind donation of £3000 towards the cost of this trip from a recent funding application from our Parent Council! This helped to subsidise a great deal of the cost of this trip, alleviating the financial pressure of our families at this time of year.
Our Clean Green ‘Transport’ Team are working together with our Parent Council to gather the views of our families about local road safety concerns.
Your child will come home with the survey in their school bag today. We would be very grateful if you could complete and return this. All completed surveys returned by Wednesday 5th June will be put into a draw to win a £30 Scotmid voucher.
Your participation will play a vital role in our effort to make our local community safer for everyone.
Our Parent Council have decided to hold a drawing competition and a Dress Down Day to raise funds for class trips next term.
Your child will be bringing home an entry sheet today, where they are to design either an Easter egg or an Easter bonnet. The closing date for entries is Friday 22nd March. All entries should be handed in to class teachers and the winners will be chosen later that day by the Parent Council and will be awarded a prize which has kindly been donated by the Gospel Hall.
This Friday 22nd March, the Parent Council will be hosting a Dress Down Day. The cost for this is £2 a child. Please note, no football strips should be worn. When your child hands in their donation, they will be given a raffle ticket which will enter them into a draw to win one of our Easter hampers.
A huge thank you to our Parent Council for organising these events!
