Today, our infant classes visited Allan’s magic show which reinforced the messages of road safety. They all enjoyed this and we’re great at relaying the message of ‘STOP, LOOK, LISTEN AND THINK’.

Voyage To Venus
Our Voyage to Venus is well and truly taking off this term. With every active travel journey you make to and from school earns s-miles which we then add to our whole school total. Plus, don’t forget bonus s-miles when you travel to and from school with someone! As always, we appreciate your support with this travel initiative.
P6 Bikeability
Our Primary 6s have undergone their Bikeability Level 1 training.
We are extremely grateful to Courtney and Miss Nicholl for working with our young people to gain this award.
Bikeability Level 1 teaches us to:
- Maintain our cycle: making sure our ride is in tip-top condition and make simple repairs
- Glide: smooth, calm and collected
- Control our bike: including setting off, cruising, slowing down, braking and stopping. (Youβll even learn to pedal one handed!)
- Pedal: without feeling wobbly or out of control
- Be aware of our surroundings: looking behind and turning around obstacles
JRSO Road Safety Week Competition
JRSO Competition
We took part in a whole school competition to design a poster on travelling safely and sustainably to school. We aim to encourage as many people to walk, cycle or scoot to school.
There were lots of fantastic competition entries and our JRSOs chose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd and even made up their own prize hamper for the winner, what a lovely touch!
The winning entry will be entered in to the Sustrans competition and if we win, our school will receive a banner of the poster to display at our gates!
Well done to our winning entries!
3rd place: Piper M P2/3
2nd place: Alice M P4/5
1st place: Lexi B P5
Walk to School Week
Today we celebrated the end of ‘Walk to School Week’ with a brightly coloured ‘Shorts and Shades’ theme! (We think we planned it perfectly as we got to enjoy the last of the super sunshine today!)
Thank you to everyone for their kind chocolate donations towards this day. Our Parent Council intend to use these to make hampers for our Summer Fayre on Saturday 7th June.

Be Bright, Be Seen!
Today we promoted, ‘Be Bright, Be Seen’ with a dress down day wearing bright colours.
We want to encourage all pupils to wear something bright on their journeys to school. Bright, fluorescent and especially reflective clothing is so important when the days become darker.
A huge thank you for all your chocolate donations in aid of this Dress Down Day. These will go towards creating tasty hampers which will be raffled off at our Christmas Fayre next weekend!
