Numeracy Support for Parents/Carers
Please visit our Parent Zone of the school blog where we have added new resources designed to support our parents/carers. (Click on the link below or click on the Parent Zone tab in the menu above) Please note the new addition of resources from the Scottish Attainment Challenge Team which shares Family Learning Activities designed to provide information and links to help parents, families and children enjoy maths activities together.
In addition to this they have also created a series of videos which share some of the approaches to teaching and learning in numeracy, calculation strategies and terminology currently being developed across schools in East Ayrshire.

SURF Awards 2021
To round off our short week at school we wanted to share with you the wonderful work we have received from members of our Pupil Council.
New Cumnock were shortlisted to the final 3 in the SURF Awards for ‘Most Improved Place in Scotland’. Mrs McMurdo and Mrs McNulty attended the live virtual ceremony last night. Unfortunately we didn’t win, but Team New Cumnock will always be our winner!
In preparation for the event we asked our Pupil Council representatives to send us videos or words about why they think living in New Cumnock is so great? Their responses were so wonderful we had to share them with you all!

Appropriate Use Of Microsoft Teams
Our teaching staff and Senior Leadership Team actively monitor the class use of Microsoft Teams and it has came to our attention that in some cases in recent days, class Teams pages have displayed some undesirable behaviours.
- Please keep the general channel related to school work. Your class teacher may add a ‘chatty channel’ which will allow you to chat with your friends, but please refrain from doing this on the general channel as work posts then get lost amongst the chats.
- Make sure that what you are typing is appropriate. Staff and your peers can see this. Any offensive of hurtful comments will be deleted. Please remember to be kind.
- Please be mindful of what time you are accessing Teams. Try to keep this within school hours.
- Whilst in a Live lesson, please conduct yourself as you would be encouraged to be in class, well behaved and mannerly at all times.
We encourage our parents/carers to monitor this closely too.
Thank you for your continued support.
