NCPS Road Safety Campaign
Parents/carers, we need your help!
We are trying to encourage our young people to walk, cycle, scoot or park and stride to school as part of our Journey to Jupiter challenge in partnership with Clean Green East Ayrshire, but we are faced with the ongoing issue of dangerous parking around our school grounds, making it difficult for our children to safely use the footpaths around our school.
Our Clean Green Transport Team would like to make you aware of 5 safe car parks within walking distance of our school.

FAB Friday 22/12/23
To celebrate the end of term, this Friday, we will be hosting a whole school FAB Friday Get Together, where we will be recognising the Wider Achievements of our pupils .
We want to hear about your child’s successes! Please bring in your certificates, medals or stories about your achievements from this Term.
To help with the programming of the afternoon, please complete the form below to let us know what your child wishes to celebrate. We will use the names gathered on the Form to create the running order.
NCPS Winter Jackets and Uniform
We have a range of winter jackets and school uniform in a variety of sizes available for free to our families.
They are on display by the Community Entrance. They are all labelled by size, please help yourself! The Community Entrance doors will be open 9-9.15am and 3-3.15pm until Thursday this week.
We are also looking for donations of PE kit (shorts/joggers/indoor shoes) to keep in our changing rooms for anyone who has forgotten their kit. If you have anything suitable at home, please send them in with your child or hand in at the main office.

School choir perform for Ayrshire Hospice
Tonight our school choir sang at Cumnock Hospital for the Ayrshire Hospice.
What a truly amazing place the Hospice is, with exceptional staff!
We felt so privileged to sing for all the patients and staff tonight to spread Christmas cheer.
Trailblazers Evaluation Surveys
Dear Parent/Carer,
Since the summer break, New Cumnock Primary School has been participating in the Trailblazers trial – a joint Ayrshire project looking to improve road safety and increase active and sustainable travel to school. To understand the impact of the trial, a short survey has been prepared to understand views on the trial and any changes in travel behaviours and attitudes. P7 BBC Burns LA.B Project
What an exciting couple of days we have had in P7 where we have been working with BBC Scotland Learning on a Burns LAB Project.
We have been reciting and recording poetry and creating stop motion animations.
We can’t wait for you to see our work with Jo Hall and her team when it is aired in January. We will keep you posted!
Christmas Dinner 2023
Today we enjoyed our school Christmas dinner! It was delicious and is always a highlight having the staff serve the pupils. A huge thank you to our catering staff for the wonderful meal!
The P7s were so kind to return the favour by serving the staff their dinner afterwards!
Sportshall Athletics Competition 2023
A huge congratulations to our P6 and P7 pupils who participated in the East Ayrshire Primary Sportshall Athletics at the Barony Campus today!
Our young people took part in many events from javelin to relays.
They were delighted to be awarded 2nd place out of the schools who participated in the Barony heats, well done everyone!
