The winning House for this term is………….. AIR
Pupils from AIR house will enjoy an outing to Jungle Madness in Kilmarnock on Monday 5th October 2026. Children will enjoy 2 hrs soft play and a selection of snacks & juice.
Pupils will walk to Jungle Madness and will leave Mount Carmel PS at 9am. Please ensure your child is wearing appropriate clothing suitable for walking to Jungle Madness and be wearing a school jumper (not black)
Children MUST be in school on time on this day as we are unable to wait on latecomers.
Help our Parent Council fundraise for our school at no extra cost to you.

The retailer will make a donation to our school community – and it wont cost you anything extra.

Our school foyer will look a little different over the next few weeks whilst work is ongoing to upgrade our Electricity Supply, these works will be finished in time for our return after the October break.
A reminder that the 1st instalment of £10 for the Pantomime was due last Friday (25th September)
The 2nd instalment of £2 is due by 30th October.
On Friday 23rd October, Tempest Photography will be in the school to take individual pupil photographs.
If you do not wish your child to have their photograph taken, please contact the school asap.

On Wednesday 4th November all P6 pupils will be taking part in Day of Dance at The Rose Reilly sports centre in Stewarton. They will travel to and from there by bus.
Please return your child’s permission form asap if you have not already done so.
A reminder that there is NO parent/carer parking in the school car park. Parents/carers should also not be dropping off/picking up children in the car park.
The car park is for school staff only.

Thank you to everyone who returned their form to be a part of our school Christmas choir this year; we had a huge response!. Unfortunately, there were only 33 spaces and allocation was on a first come, first served basis.
If your child secured a space, you will have received a confirmation text today (29/9/).
A reminder for First Communion children that there will be an ‘I belong’ session this Sunday which First Communion children should attend.
These sessions run at your parish church, for a reminder of the times, see below;


Pantomime Donation
We would like to thank our Parent Council who have, this week given us a wonderful donation towards the cost of the Pantomime!
Because of this, the cost per pupil has been reduced from £17 to £12 which is a fantastic saving for our families.

Unfortunately, due to low numbers, we have decided to cancel the Parent/Carer Maths Session on Thursday 24th September.
Thank you to those who expressed an interest. We hope to offer another opportunity later in the school year and will be in touch with further details when these are available.

At Mount Carmel, we are reviewing and updating our handwriting policy and how we teach handwriting across the stages.

Kilmarnock Standard will be in school on Thursday 24th September to take out new Primary 1 class photo.

Reminder that school will be closed Friday 18th September and Monday 21st September and reopens on Tuesday 22nd September at 9am.
Due to Essential maintenance our telephone lines will not be available from 3pm tomorrow.



Football Training will be cancelled on Thursday 17th September due to the holiday weekend.
Training will return on Thursday 23rd September 3 – 4 pm as normal

We have female personal hygiene products available for all in our Upper school toilets and available in the cupboard with the Hey Girls sign in the foyer.
A reminder that P4 children who will be making their First Communion in May, should attend an ‘Introductory Retreat Day’ tomorrow 12th September at St. Joseph’s Church and hall.
The day begins at 10am and finishes at 2pm.


If you are having a toy clear out over the next few weeks and have any toys in good condition that would be suitable for our Infant Dept and you would like to donate them to our school we would be very grateful.
