A reminder that our whole school summer trip to Heads of Ayr Farm Park is this Wednesday, 17th June.
All children attending MUST be in school for 9am sharp as the buses will be leaving very shortly thereafter and are unable to wait for latecomers.
If your child is not attending the trip, they will have to stay at home as all our staff are going.
Children can wear shorts, joggers, leggings etc, but should have school uniform on top. They should also have a waterproof jacket and a snack with them. There will be the opportunity to have their snack on arrival at the park.
Packed lunches should be brought in a disposable carrier bag. If your child has requested a packed lunch from the school kitchen, they will collect this in the morning.
The buses will be back in time for our usual 3pm finish, however, in their return children will go back to their classrooms where they will be dismissed from there.

Dear All,
Thank you to you all for your continued support for Diocesan Youth opportunities in the Diocese. On Saturday 18th April we had a fantastic day with youth from across the Diocese as sixty five gathered for the Easter Youth Gathering – this was very much a Diocesan event, with 10 each coming from both North and South Ayrshire, 22 from East Ayrshire, and 23 from Dumfries & Galloway. We were delighted to welcome so many along and to see the continuing growth in participation at these events as this was the largest that my team and I have run to date. At the Easter Youth Gathering, we announced our programme for the coming months, as well as ‘Galloway’s Seoul’ a 5 day event next year following the model of World Youth Day, which is open to all young people in current P5-S4 (P7-S6 in 2027/8). The feedback from young people and parents has been fantastic and we can’t wait now for our next Youth Evening, and indeed the Summer Youth Gathering in August.
We’re launching Galloway’s Seoul at the moment as we’re planning an extensive programme of fundraising activities to support young people in reducing the cost of their place (hopefully fully covering it), as well as to let families know in advance that it’s coming up when they’re planning for next summer. There’s no deposit payable for it, so if young people are thinking about it, we’d encourage them to register and get involved in the fundraising early.
I’ve also attached A4 versions of the posters for the events mentioned, our latest newsletter, a copy of the What’s On guide
202604 Issue 11 20260505 Letter to Schools
shared at the Easter Youth Gathering, and the group photo from Easter which you may wish to distribute electronically. As usual, you can find PDF and image copies of all of these resources in our Schools share here:
Thank you again for all of your support in promoting and encouraging youth events in your area, we’ve been delighted to welcome so many young people as they’ve been getting involved. If you have any questions/ suggestions please feel free to be in touch.
God bless,
Fr Kevin Rennie

We are delighted to let you know that we made a fantastic total of £500.44 from our Book Fair held in March.
Thank you to everyone who made a purchase, as we receive 40% of our total back in rewards for the school to spend on books. This means we have £200.18 worth of books to choose from the fair for our school!
After the success of last 2 years House Hamper Raffle, FOMC and our Parent Council have decided to organise this fundraising event again this year to help raise some funds for our children in Mount Carmel.
We will be holding another Dress Down Day on Friday 8th May, and are asking that each child (if they can) bring in an item relating to their house colour for the raffle.
For example, if your child was in the red house (Fire), they could bring in a tin of ready salted Pringles. If you could support us with this we would very much appreciate it.
The tickets for the raffle will then be sold for £1 and we will have 4 winners, a winner for each of our houses.
** No perishable items please**

Good Luck everyone!!
There is a small amount of funding to provide after school dance sessions for Primary 7 pupils who already have an interest in dance from:
3.00pm-4.30pm Fridays: 24 April, 1/8/15/22/29 May, 5 June
With a final show in The Big Top, Dean Castle on Thursday 11th June, 7pm.
Sessions will take place in St Joseph’s Academy gym hall and we thought it might be a nice opportunity for a transition event, with children who have shared interest in dance socialising and dancing together. Children will have the opportunity to work with professional dance artists and take part in jazz and hip-hop sessions. It will mean that pupils will need to leave early from school on Friday to get to the venue for 3 and this would be a parental responsibility. All sessions are totally free.
Please use the link below to register interest.
