We will be holding a Wider Achievement Assembly on Friday 21st November.  If you would like us to celebrate your child/children’s recent achievements, please send any photos and information to the school inbox eamountcarmel.ps@eastayrshire.org.uk by Wednesday 19th.

On Tuesday 18th November children in Primary 1 will receive their Bookbug Family Bag and children in Primary 2 and Primary 3 will receive their Read Write Count bags.

We will have a special afternoon of activities on the day.  Children in P1-3 can bring pajama’s to change into after lunch, they are also welcome to bring a cuddly toy, small blanket or pillow.  The teachers have planned a lovely afternoon for the boys and girls we hope they have a lovely time.

Our November raffle is now LIVE on Parentpay. Usual conditions apply; £1 per strip of 5 tickets for your chance to win a fabulous prize!

We are looking for P7 pupil volunteers to help out at our Pupil Progress Meetings on either Wednesday 12th or Thursday 13th  November or both. If your child wishes to help out please complete and return the form they have been given.

Book Stall 

We are planning on running a Book Stall at our Christmas Fayre this year, where new and pre loved books will be on sale.

We are looking for any donations of books to add to our stall. These can be handed in to the school as of today. So, if you are thinking of having a clear out before Christmas, please  hand any books you no longer need into us.

Fireworks and ASB Advice to Parents

It’s Poppy donation time again. Our P7 pupils will be going round the classes as of tomorrow with poppies. If your child would like a poppy please send a small donation in with them to pop in our collection tin.

Please wear something spotty, if you wish, for our Dress Down Day on Friday 14th November as it it also Children In Need day. Remember to also bring a donation for the tombola that day too.

Barnardo’s East Ayrshire Families Youth Service would like to inform young people and their parents/carers of a Youth Group that is available to young people in Primary 7 from the local area. This group is completely FREE to attend and runs term-time every Monday from 4pm-6pm in Onthank Community Centre.

If your P7 child/children would like to attend please ask the office for an application form.

Our school car park is as always out of bounds for parents/carers vehicles . We also have an increase in commercial traffic e.g vans lorries etc  going in and out of the car park daily due to our kitchen renovations having started this week making it particularly hazardous.

During September we were delighted to see so many of our parents and carers come along to our ‘Meet the teacher’ session, thank you for taking the time to come to school and get some information about the year ahead. Please let us know what you thought of these sessions and anything else we could add in the future.

Our Primary 1 class will be having their class photograph taken by the Kilmarnock  Standard photographer on Wednesday 1st October  at 11.30am.

If you DO NOT wish your child to be included , please contact the school office.

There will be a Dress Down Day this Thursday 18th September. We are asking kindly for a £1 donation via Parentpay .

Pupils who pay give a donation will automatically get a free entry into our September Raffle.
