Welcome Back

Monday 20th April

A very good morning to the pupils, parents and carers of Mauchline PS & ECC. We hope you have had a relaxing and safe Easter holiday.

The staff are all preparing some activities for everyone and will be posting in the class pages of the blog. Keep checking over the course of the day/week for updates..

If you are already using Microsoft Teams, your teacher will also be using this platform as a means of communication. Please also login to Office 365 to check if you have any tasks to complete.

We can do this together!!

Website Safety

CEOP site for online child protection

This site has resources for ages 4-7. Jessie and Friends and keeping your under 5s safe online are free as are many others on this fabulous website.

Internet matters is another excellent resource particularly for keeping parents and carers up to date with what sites are popular with children and young people and what they can do on these sites, again a free resource.

Bird Song

Thursday 16th April

Good morning Mauchline PS & ECC

I have been out a walk every evening with my two children and we have set ourselves a challenge – to identify some of the bird song we hear.

I have attached a link to the Woodland Trust website to help.

Mrs Kilday will love this challenge as she is a true bird-lover!!

Easter Bunny Game

I have created an Easter bunny version of the classic beetle drive game.

There are different versions of this game but I have tried to keep the rules as simple as possible.

I love a Beetle Drive and the children love playing them too – have a go and let me know how it went.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

To link with this morning’s Tweet here is a link to an animated version of the story.  The children have seen this before at assembly and it’s one of my personal favourites!!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=75NQK-Sm1YY

Download this colourful set of small images for the younger children to cut out and use as stick puppets based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

You can print the images out, let the children cut them out then stick them onto lollipop sticks or pieces of card.

Now let your child retell the story in their own words – even let them add their own favourite food/snacks. Enjoy
