Mauchline Beavers, Cubs and Scouts

Some of Mauchline’s scout groups (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) have made a video to say thank you to all of the key workers in their community.

They especially want to say thank you to all of the teachers for working so hard and adapting so quickly during this difficult situation.

Claire (the Beaver leader) would like to  invite all children age 5 and ¾ plus to come to their online meetings. They take place on Thursday evenings:

Beavers 6pm

Cubs & Scouts 6:45pm

The online meetings include creative, physical and educational activities which contribute to badges.

If anyone would like to join, they can email Claire at 34thayrshire@gmail.com or visit their Facebook page www.facebook.com/1stmauchline and they will be sent a link and password to join the meeting.

PATHS – Ask the Coach

At Mauchline Primary we realise that the current situation can be challenging for everyone, both adults and children and we are eager to support you as best we can as we face these challenges together.

As part of our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) our coach (Hazel) from Barnardo’s Scotland, who supports the implementation of the PATHS® programme in school will be taking questions relating to the Social and Emotional Health and Wellbeing of parents, children and family members

If you or your child have any questions regarding challenges you are currently experiencingperhaps dealing with difficult feelings or behaviours in your home or dealing with new challenges presented by staying at home, you can send Hazel your question anonymously via the forms below and she will respond.

As always, if you have a particular concern regarding your child that you want to discuss please contact us directly and we will be happy to talk over the phone or via email.

Clicker software during school closure

The school recently purchased Clicker 7 – thanks very much to our very generous Parent Council.

We only just received the software before the school closed, therefore didn’t have much of an opportunity to get to know it very well.

“Clicker is the complete writing solution for the primary classroom, providing every pupil with just the right level of support and challenge.” (Quote from the Clicker website).

It is installed on all of our desktop computers and will be available for use on return to school.

However we have managed to gain a month’s free access for staff and pupils at home. This allows access to Clicker 8 (we have Clicker 7 in school) to let the children have a ‘play about’ with the software to see all of the fabulous writing tools that it has.

Please follow the link below for installation:

If you are interested in downloading and using Clicker, please email Mrs Cross for the unique installation code. We are not allowed to share this on Glow as it is a public platform.
