Do Well Together, Where Everyone Matters

Primary 5J – Mrs Jasinska

We were very lucky to have Debbie back in class with us on Friday. She let us ask lots of questions about our salmon eggs and told us what would happen to them when they hatch.
She also brought a kick sample from a local burn. We had to decide from what lived in the water if it was a healthy burn or polluted. She even managed to catch a fish in her sample!

Primary 5 have had our salmon eggs introduced into the class today, which will stay with us until the classroom environment is no longer suitable for their survival.  We are looking forward to see how they grow over the next few weeks.

Pupils have been issued with a Homework Grid for this term. I will upload a copy here and on Classdojo. If you could please have a look and if there are any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. It would be helpful if you could also provide any feedback on this style of homework.

Pupils will be bringing a letter home about P5J’s parent afternoon on the 1st of November.  Please spread the word and if you are able to attend there is a slip to return to class.

This week is Maths Week Scotland.  As part of Maths Week Mrs J has set us the challenge to use our knowledge and skills to plan her a holiday for October.  Where do you think she will end up? Will it be 5* or 1*?

Can you guess what style of painting has inspired us today?

Today we had a go at making our own rivers using crumpled paper, marker pens and spray bottles to find out how rivers flow.
