In Primary 6-5W, we are learning all about “Local Government”.

This week we have been very busy. On Tuesday 4th February, we welcomed Elaine Murray, the Lead Councillor at Dumfries and Galloway Council to our classroom. Elaine was very impressed by the knowledge, manners and enthusiasm the pupils demonstrated and described the pupils as a “credit to their school”.

On Thursday 6th February, we held our own local election in class to appoint a team of councillors. These councillors will be in charge of making decisions that meet the needs of their classmates.
