Scottish National Standardised Assessments (SNSA)

In session 2017-2018 the Scottish Government commissioned the Scottish National Standardised Assessments as part of the National Improvement Framework.

All S3 pupils will complete assessments in Numeracy, Reading and Writing.  Each assessment lasts around 40 minutes and there is a practice assessment that takes about 10 minutes to allow familiarisation with the format and feel of the online assessment package. The assessments are in line with the Literacy and Numeracy Benchmarks.

Pupils are not required to revise or prepare for the assessments. The outcome of these assessments are not an indicator of progression into National Qualifications within the Senior Phase.

Please find Parent/ Carer Information Leaflet produced by Aberdeenshire Council and further information for parents and carers is available here.
