The Health and Wellbeing comprises of the Physical Education department and the Home Economics department.

S1 – 3
Courses for pupils in S1 to S3 include Physical Education, Health and Food Technology and Practical Cookery. All courses provide breadth and depth of understanding within the specific subject areas and aim to provide challenge and enjoyment for all pupils with personalisation and choice where possible.

All courses deliver the Level 3 and Level 4 Experiences and Outcomes from both the Health and Well-Being and the Technologies Curricular areas. Numeracy and Literacy and supported and re-enforced through a range of teaching approaches.

All courses use a range of assessment approaches to evaluate pupils’ knowledge, understanding and skills in order to help pupils identify their strengths and plan for their own progress.

All S3 Food studies involves completion of REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.

S4-6
Pupils with an interest in Health and Well Being will have the option of undertaking National 4, National 5 or Higher Level Courses in Health and Food Technology, Practical Cookery or Physical Education.

In all these courses, pupils will extend their knowledge and understanding in greater depth and apply and develop their practical skills to improve their performance.
