Course Information

Mathematics in S1 – S3 (Broad General Education)
The aim of this course is to provide pupils with a range of numerical and mathematical skills, encompassing levels 2, 3, and 4 experiences and outcomes.
The course will provide pupils with the opportunity to build on their mathematical knowledge and to develop their reasoning and problem solving skills.

Key areas of study are number and money, geometry and measurement, information handling, algebra.

Mathematics in S4
Our aim is to provide pupils with a range of numerical and mathematical skills to meet the requirements of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) certification courses. The pupils are following the new National Qualifications courses and will be entered at  National 4 or National 5 levels.

The courses will provide pupils with the opportunity to build on their mathematical knowledge and to develop their reasoning and problem solving skills.

Key areas of study are number and money, geometry and measurement, information handling, algebra, patterns and relationships.

Mathematics in S5 and S6
Our aim is to provide pupils with a range of numerical and mathematical skills to meet the requirements of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) certification courses.  Currently, pupils are presented at Advanced Higher, Higher, National 5 and National 4 levels.

The courses will provide pupils with the opportunity to build on their mathematical knowledge and to develop their reasoning and problem solving skills.

Assessment logbooks are overtaken by learner guides and every child doing National 3, 4 or 5 in Maths is provided with a copy of this.
