Chinese New Year and Robbie Burns

Primary 6A  from Gordon  Primary school were wondering if you would be kind enough to include in your article about our Chinese day on Friday 31st January 2014. With a chinese pupil joining our class we decided to base our topic on a trip that starts in Huntly and ends in Fujian, China. We worked in our co-operative groups to pull it off and produce our very own travel guide. We started off the day by doing some Chinese homework talks including some power points and a song composed by a pupil. Then we went on to dressing up in Asian and Scottish clothes.

We have our very own China wall in our class with some pictures we made in homework. Some of us chose to write about how people in China live and work. We also got  to learn a Scottish poem for homework that  we would read to the class. We had to include actions and the best three will be chosen as winners. then one of them will read their winning poem at Assembly.

Saint Andrews Day in the Nursery

On Friday the nursery celebrated Saint Andrews day.  The children and been invited to wear a touch of tartan. P6 pupils provided the entertainment. Aiden played the accordion, Lucas played the chanter and  Logan  recited a Scottish poem.  The nursery pupils made stovies and ate them all. They even made their own tartan and their own pictures. After that they also did some scottish dancing and a fiddler also came in and played some tunes: they really enjoyed it. It sounded really good and fun. They  had an amazing time.  they said that their stovies were fine.
