P3 Visit to Leith hall

On Tuesday the 24th of June P3A and P3B went to Leith hall. They went to Leith hall because they had to find minibeasts and minibeasts are their topic. There were four activities. One, was they went into the middle of the woods and did a bug hunt. Two, was they had pictures of minibeasts and they had to find them. Three, was a meadow sweep they had to have a tub and a magnifying glass, they made some room  and put the tub down and saw some minibeasts, they tried to name them. Four, the last one that they did was the minibeast survey. The weather was very, very sunny.

They had fun and have been invited back to Leith hall.

Crikey Moses!

This Wednesday (2 April) the Primary 3 classes presented a play named ‘Moses’ which they had been working on for the past 3 weeks to the whole of Gordon Primary and their parents in the Afternoon!

There were lots of props and costumes, the props illustrated the scenes beautifully! There were lots of well rehearsed songs as well!

All the school and parents enjoyed the play loads.

Well Done to all the Primary 3 Pupils for putting on a marvellous show!

friendship tree

As you had probably noticed there is a tree in the school hall thats looking a bit bare at the moment.

The whole school is taking part in a big tree from the famous quote “friendship is a sheltering tree.” Each class has beeen getting little bits and bobs, such as leaves insects and flowerpots. As their project p6 has been learning about friendship and bullying and the class came up with the idea to make a tree representingwe are all Gordon Primary School.”

everybody will be taking part even the teachers.

The Nursery and P1s will be getting flower pots, they will put their names on the pot and write what they think friendship is on the petals.

P2s to p7s will be doing leaves that they can decorate with their names.  Also they will be getting insects or birds to write on what they think friendship is.

The  staff will be getting watering cans to sign.

So every single person in Gordon Primary will be taking part.

We are looking forward to seeing the completed tree flourishing and full of leaves!

P3 Assembly

Mrs Jamieson’s Primary 3 class shared what they have been learning in a very interesting assembly attended by staff, pupils and P3 parents.

The children had been watching the Nutcracker ballet.

The children thought about the main characters in the ballet, (Clara, the Nutcracker, the mouse king) and thought about wow words to describe them. They also described the setting of the story.

They wrote their own endings to the story of the Nutcracker. In science they made simple circuits, drew pictures of the Nutcracker and used the circuits to light up the buttons of their Nutcrackers.

They also really enjoyed watching the ballet and listening to the music.

Well done Primary 3; thank you for sharing your project with us!

Christmas Fair

Thank you to everyone who attended the Christmas Fair and the adults and children who were helping out. The choir were excellent and the orchestra were superb. The christmas fair raised an astonishing £1853. Thank you to the P.T.A members and Mrs Innes who organised the fair and also thank you to the pupils who made the crafts.

Almost everything was sold ! The girls who were helping sell the P1 fatballs made up a motto “save the birds, buy a fatball”

Well done to everyone who took part; it was greatly appreciated.

These are the things that were available:

felt badges, fat balls, homemade bags, sweetie cones, candle holders, cards, bookmarks, nail painting, decorations, tattoos and many other things.

The raffle was a big success.
