Learning Council Assembly

The Learning Council have thought of a school motto – Everyone Has A Voice!

This was first mentioned last term on the first Learning Council meeting by Skye!  At the last meeting the class representatives talked about having a school motto and had a think on what it could be! The end result was “everyone has a voice”. They have put out slips of paper to each class and all parents to vote to decide whether they would like this to be the school motto!

To persuade people to go with YES they presented a Assembly last week! They told everybody what a motto was and why they should vote for this motto.

The results should be revealed soon!

Trying your best

Last week in assembly we were talking about trying our best and never giving up. Mr Schrimsaw told us a story about how when he was getting piano lessons he thought he couldnt learn a particular tune, but his teacher kept on nagging at him until he realised that he could play it after all. He reminded us that we should keep trying, even if we think we can’t do something.

He reminded us of this part of Gordon Primary’s code

CARE AND RESPECT MYSELF

  • Follow instructions
  • Be ready to learn
  • Try my Best
  • be proud of myself and my work

Teachers are looking for children who act this way this week, so lets try  and aim for those.

SO NEVER GIVE UP THERE -IS NO SUCH WORD AS CAN’T
