A message from the Scottish Government – Manchester incident mental health support

posted by Alita Spink, Schools and Learning Support Officer

It has been over three months since the tragic events that took place in Manchester in May this year. Our thoughts continue to be with the individuals and communities affected by this terrible incident. There may be a number of young people that were directly affected and may still be struggling to cope, know how to get the help and advice they need. The advice for anyone suffering from mental health concerns is for them to contact their GP in the first instance, or, where this is not possible, to call 111 and seek advice and a referral. Information is also available on the NHS inform website.

Arbroath and District Music Festival

posted by Christine Jackson, Schools and Learning Support Officer

Members of the Arbroath and District Music Festival Committee would love to draw your attention to the annual competitive music festival that takes place in Arbroath every March.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our young people to take part in exciting and rewarding activities that include singing, instrumental playing and verse speaking.  The committee can provide support with transport to and from the Webster’s Memorial Theatre and are keen to remind you that you can use backing tracks for choirs and soloists if you are unable to find an accompanist.  The deadline for entries is 26th January 2018.  Festival Flyer 2017
