In Primary Five at Kirn we have been reading ‘Really Weird Removals.com’ as our novel study this term, and have used the story as the inspiration for creating film adverts, life size characters, emails and much more. On Thursday 20th and Friday 21st of February P6 and 7 pupils from the East Lorn cluster(Dalmally,Taynuilt and Kilchrenan) got together for a two day health and wellbeing conference at Dalmally Community hall entitled “Changes and Challenges”
During the first day the children took part in various workshops on emotional changes, puberty, friendships and resolving conflicts and healthy lifestyles.
Two pupils from Rockfield Primary School’s Gaelic medium classes in Oban are to appear on BBC Alba’s Gleusta children’s quiz programme next week.
Calum Garvin and Calum McLuckie were P6 pupils when the programme was recorded in June 2013 at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Isle of Skye. They competed successfully in a series of challenges against contestants from Tollcross Primary School in Edinburgh and returned with a trophy to present to their school. Nervously, on Friday 1st November 2013, we waited for Sergeant Rae to come in to teach us about the dangers of the internet.
First we learned about file sharing then cautiously we talked openly about e-mail. Crazily, most of us use e-mail often and it is very popular, although Facebook and Twitter are very well known and used as well.
