Internet Safety Caption
Nervously, on Friday 1st November 2013, we waited for Sergeant Rae to come in to teach us about the dangers of the internet.
First we learned about file sharing then cautiously we talked openly about e-mail. Crazily, most of us use e-mail often and it is very popular, although Facebook and Twitter are very well known and used as well.
Finally there are millions of chat rooms, mobile phones and games (Xbox, Nintendo) that go onto the internet too. Now I know that you should just shut down your computer, walk away if someone tries to offend you or if someone says something cruel like “I hate you” then just block them. Also don’t show pictures or put too much personal information on the internet but you can put your age and first name or awesome nickname.

Exploring Money
On Wednesday 30th October 2013, we visited the Royal Bank of Scotland in Bowmore.
In the beginning, Stephanie told us about different bank accounts. There are lots of saving accounts for everyone, Rainbow savings is for babies to 21 years, Cash Club for 7-10 years and for 11-18 years a Revolve Account. Then we found out about statements, they tell you how much money you have in your account, what you have spent your money on and if you are in credit or spent too much money and are overdrawn. Finally we learned about wallets that companies use to put their money into when the bank is shut so that they can use the night safe.
I really enjoyed our trip because I learned that money has changed, you need to know your pin number to use your credit card and take money out at the cash machine. Surprisingly we all got amazing gifts from the bank when we were finished.
