Saxophone superstar!
Our young saxophonists enjoyed a once in a lifetime opportunity on Thursday 5th February, where they got to meet international jazz musician, recording artist and educator Eric Marienthal at Howden Park Centre. Eric records CDs with his own band, has played with the Chick Corea Electric Band and is currently lead Alto Saxophonist with the Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band. He is also the sound behind Lisa Simpson on the cartoon “The Simpsons”, and told us all about the process of recording the music for the cartoon. He played for us, which was very impressive, talked to us about his career and answered questions. We found out that the first tune he ever learned to play was “The Pink Panther”! It was a real treat and an exciting experience.

Showcase preparations!
P7 are having a wonderful time working with Miss Sum. We have been learning how to do some paper cutting and some of it was very complex! We used a growth mindset approach to ensure we were confident when taking on a new challenge. We cannot wait to show what we have been learning at our Cluster Chinese New Year showcase soon!
P4 Handball Festival
Well done to all the handball players. We had some great fun learning this new sport and playing against teams from Dedridge, St Ninians, Bellsquarry and Bankton. Everyone worked really hard and we managed to score lots of goals and win lots of matches too. Well done to everyone.
Baby Cara visits Primary 4a
We had a visit from Baby Cara yesterday! Primary 4 have been learning about baby naming ceremonies in different religions as part of an RME topic and how to look after a baby as part of a Health and Wellbeing topic, so Baby Cara came in to class to help us with our learning. She came with her mum (Julie) and we asked lots of questions to find out more. We looked at photographs of her in the hospital and as she grew up, and we also looked at her baby clothes, toys and accessories. We had a great time and so did Baby Cara!
