P5a reflections from Houston

P5a have had another busy but enjoyable week!

Ruaridh and Halle’s highlights were starting our new topic ‘My engineering world’.

Logan has enjoyed learning more about coordinates and creating his own Halloween themed challenge.

Mekhi enjoyed free writing Friday.

Katie, Bryce and Keir loved writing their own spooky stories for our school writing competition.

Next week our P5a reflection will be complete by pupils in Howden.

P5a Houston update

Hello,

Pupils from P5a who are in Houston would like to share their highlights from this week:

Keir – my favourite thing was PE and going to The Lanthorn to meet other P5 pupils from cluster schools

Ruaridh – My highlight is lunch and break because I get to play with my friends

Katie – I am proud of our fab harvest assembly and I like listening to the House Captains present

Halle – I am proud of myself for trying hard in PE

Logan – I like when we did the maths quiz for Maths week Scotland. We did it with our friends and Beth and I came 3rd!

P5a – a reflection from Limefield

In P5 we have been working hard to prepare for our harvest assemblies next week. We will be presenting at the Lanthorn on Thursday with P5 pupils from the cluster schools. We will also be presenting our learning about harvest to the school next Friday too. We have been busy creating PowerPoint slides, making posters, researching, writing scripts and working on our presentation skills too.

In maths we have been working on our numeracy skills in multiplication and exploring the properties of 3D shape. In literacy we are enjoying writing letters to pupils in our partner school in India.

Here are some of our highlights from the week…

Niamh – I am enjoying working on my letter to India
Rebekah – I enjoyed writing about gratitude
Jessica W – It has been fun to create 3D shapes
Carys – I have loved writing scripts and making 3D shapes
Maryam – I enjoyed writing a letter to India
Shahveer – I like learning about harvest and climate change
Leah – It has been fun to create posters about harvest
Eva – It has been good to create the harvest assembly

Have a good weekend,

Primary 7

Hi P7,

Hope you are having fun in the snow and keeping yourself warm and safe. We would love to see some photos of what you have been up to! Has anyone managed to make a den or igloo in the snow?

Happy World Book Day!
Some activities for you to do at home…
– take a photo of yourself reading your favorite book, this could be inside or outside!
– Write a book review and post on Yammer or the school blog
– Visit the World Book Day website for other activities
http://www.worldbookday.com/

Darwin Rocks!
Another activity to keep you busy is learning show lines and working on bringing your character to life through humour, expression and gestures. You could also be listening to show songs and learning the lyrics too.

Additionally, you could be looking at home for anything we could borrow to use for costumes, scenery or props. Please ask an adult first to make sure this is ok.

Maths
We will be setting some sumdog challenges for you to complete too if you wish.

Have fun, stay safe, stay warm and keep learning!

Hi P7

Hope you are all enjoying a day in the snow! We would love to see some photos of what you are getting up to. Email them to Miss Leys, Miss Brown or post them on Twitter, our school blog or Yammer. What can you build? Can you make an igloo? How creative can you be? Can you write a message in the snow to share with us?

Have a look at our P7 snow pack on the blog for some fun activities you can complete while nice and cosy in the house or outside in the snow.

Remember if you are out and about in the snow make sure you are all wrapped up and keep yourself safe.

Some more ideas to keep you busy and having fun:
– Go for a walk in the snow and take some photos
– Go sledging
– Play ‘Tic-Tac-Snow’ – use long sticks to make a grid in the snow and use crisscrossed sticks and pinecones as game pieces.
– Snuggle up and read a book
– Keep your First Minister’s Reading Passport up to date
– Work on you Fairtrade Fortnight competition entries
– Explore tasks on your new homework grid
– Do some research about Fairtrade gold and cotton and create an information leaflet or powerpoint to share your learning

P7 end of year event – a message from the PSA

The Williamston PSA would like to let parents in P7A and B know that this year there will be a leavers event for the end of P7. The PSA are looking for volunteers to help arrange this. They are hoping to host the first meeting in December. A flier is due to go home later to let parents know more details. The budget is currently £10 per student but the PSA are looking to host a bake sale to raise further funds. If you are interested please contact the PSA by email. Thank you.
