An update from the Fairtrade group

Hello we are the Fairtrade group and we have been busy working on some ideas of how we can promote Fairtrade Fortnight at Williamston. We have already decided on group roles and expectations. Our Chairperson is Kiera, our link person is Craig, our Treasurer is Rowan and our Secretary is Shay. We have also created pledges which helped us to think about what commitments we will make to our group and school. We have also designed badges for our group. Our link person has been working with the P3,2 and 1 group to set them tasks and challenges. We have a floor book that we write in each week to share our ideas and learning.

Congratulations in P2/1 and P2

We are all very proud of the boys and girls in P2/1 and P2 who received achievement certificates today. What do you think you could work on to help you get a certificate at the next achievement assembly?

Our teachers are also very proud of the boys and girls who took part in the recent Scottish Poetry Competition. Well done to everyone, especially our winners.

P3/2 learning and achievement

A huge well done to all of the P3/2 pupils who recieved certificates in assembly today.

Our achievement certificates were presented to Lucas, Finn, Eilidh and Heidi. Our Scots Poetry certificates were awarded to Josh, Arran and Sara.

This week we have been very busy exploring and investigating man made and natural materials in our school environment. We visited the nursery playground as an outdoor learning experience and found lots of examples of each.

We enjoyed learning about the customs and traditions of the Islam festival of Eid  and created lanterns, cards and hand art as part of our learning. We can’t wait to display our beautiful work in our new classroom!

Meet the new Williamston Waves Crew

Williamston Waves started back up again this week with a new team of presenters.  We have some returning experts from last year and some eager new recruits in Primary 6 and 7, and we had our first after-school session yesterday to begin to plan our show format.  We have been looking at things we would like to keep in the show and some new ideas for 2016 and are very excited about beginning our Friday broadcasts.

Here are your Williamston Waves DJs…………

We also have Finlay from P6 and Rachel from P7.  Miss Robertson will be supporting the group as they begin to develop their ideas and settle into a routine of scripting and broadcasting their own shows.

We still have some spaces in the group available, so if you think you’d be interested in joining, please speak to Miss Robertson as soon as possible.

Listen out for our first broadcast sometime soon, where the team will introduce themselves to the school.
