Word families under the sea part 2

Hello P3. Today we have the “ed” word family. There are 5 “ed” words on today’s star fish:

bed, fed, led, red and wed.

Can you come up with some of your own?

Yesterday I added some words to my “ip” list – pip, ship and trip.

The P3 teachers love to see your work, so if you can, please share any word family art, word family lists and grid activity by commenting on this post or on Twitter, tagging @missblyth1 and @MrsLDee

Miss Blyth’s Daily Challenge

It’s Wednesday! Lots of fun Fitness Fortnight activities to be trying today!
Today for my daily challenge I would like you to complete the sums below with either the +, -, x or ÷ symbols. You can double check them by completing the sums!
1) 50 ___ 10 = 5
2) 17 __ 2 = 34
3) 123 __ 16 = 107
4) 123 __ 16 = 139
Try creating a few of your own questions, too!
Edited to add answers:
  • 50 _÷_ 10 = 5
  • 17 _x_ 2 = 34
  • 123 __ 16 = 107
  • 123 _+_ 16 = 139

Word families under the sea.

Good morning P3. Well done on all your fantastic Sports Day achievements.  It was lovely to see you joining in. Some of you may have seen the picture of the word family flower garden from a few days ago. I had so much fun making it I have a new theme for practising more word families. Today we have the “ip” word family, and I’ve added a crab into the picture. Now I need to come up with a name for the crab. Do you have any suggestions? If you’d like to create a word family picture and share it with us please tag @missblyth1 and @MrsLDee

Miss Blyth’s Daily Challenge

Happy Friday! Welcome to the last day of Fitness Fortnight week 1. We’ve been so impressed by how enthusiastic you’ve all been and the amazing level of participation on Twitter. Keep up the hard work!

Today I am challenging you to revise your knowledge of pattern. Below are three sequences of shapes. I’d like you to continue the pattern for three more steps. Then create your own pattern and challenge someone else to continue it!

P3 Miss Blyth’s Daily Challenge

Morning everyone! I hope you’re all having fun completing your Fitness Fortnight activities! Today’s PE challenge looks like a great one and can be found here: https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/simpsonps/2020/05/21/pe-daily-challenge-day-17/

I’ve got a little art challenge for you to try today. Choose an object in your house like a teddy or bottle. Split your paper into four rectangles. In each box, draw the same object in a different way.

1 – in under 20 seconds. 2 – upside down. 3 – eyes closed. 4 – with the hand you don’t write with. Here’s my attempt:

P3 Daily Challenge

I’ll be posting a daily challenge here and on my twitter account @missblyth1. It is not compulsory – just for a little bit of fun and variety! If you complete any of the challenges, you can tweet them to me @missblyth1 (remember not to name your child if they are in the picture) or comment on the challenge post! Today we have some subtraction questions to challenge you to use the jump and split strategies. If you need a reminder of those strategies, look at Miss McGregor’s blog post here: https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/simpsonps/2020/04/03/a-message-for-p3a-2/

I’ll tweet/comment the answers later!
