Primary 7 weekly catch up

Well another busy week in P7.  We had been frantically rehearsing for our Remembrance assembly, showcasing our learning about WW2. We really enjoyed performing and sharing our learning with the rest of the school and our relatives and carers. They were treated to some wartime baking that we had made for them. Mrs Andison was very proud of us all.

On Friday we walked along to the Pumpherston war memorial  and laid a wreath in memory of all the fallen soldiers who have lost their lives for us. We had a minutes silence to reflect on what it meant to us all individually.

Our House and Vice Captains went to Broxburn to represent the school at the local Remembrance day service.

We are all looking forward to Book Week next week. We can’t wait to find out what our new book based topic is.

P1 Blog

Primary 1 have been learning about Remembrance Day and why we wear poppies. We learned that people wear poppies to show that they are thinking about the soldiers that have fought in the wars. We made our own poppies to remember the soldiers.

Primary 3 Weekly Update

This week in Primary 3 we have been very busy.

Numeracy – We have been continuing to develop our knowledge of how to skip count in 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s up to and beyond 100. We have been looking for patterns when skip counting, using a 100 square to help us.

Literacy – Miss Walkingshaw modelled a lesson on how to create a narrative piece of writing. The story was called ‘The day where everything was backwards’. We loved helping her create this piece of writing and can’t wait to write our very own narrative stories next week.

Music – This week we have been practising our songs for the Nativity and learning about ‘pulse’ using our new resource – Charanga. We loved finding the pulse in different pieces of music and completed the GOLD level!

Well Done Medal Card by Katie Phythian from The Dotty House

Our focus for next week is to work on our manners and being a kind friend.

Primary 4

Last week in Primary 4 we were using our research skills to find out about some famous explorers. We used books and the internet to complete a fact file.  We then used these to create a poster about our chosen explorer. Here is an example of some of our work.

P3 Weekly Update

This week we have been developing our knowledge of how to use a 100 square. We wanted to learn how to use this properly as we realised that this would help us with a lot of our learning.

We also completed our second week of Fun Fitness Friday with James from Broxburn Athletic FC where we built on our knowledge of positive mental health and found out more about the importance of water.
