Weekly update from Primary 7

We have been rounding off our Scottish topic by writing information reports on Scottish animals, the life of Robert Burns and Scottish musicians from the past.  Mrs Andison has been impressed by our report writing skills and how they have progressed over the weeks.  We are becoming more confident.

In Numercy we have been recapping measuring in millimetres, centimetres and metres. We were outside measuring as well as inside, and are improving our accuracy.  We have also been converting a variety of measurements.

In art we have been using oil pastels to mix the colours we saw in some thistles.  The results were very good.

In Science we have investigated echolocation and its purpose for different animals.

As well as all our learning, we have been planning a winter sports event for the whole school to take part in.

It’s certainly been a bust week in P7 and it’s about to get busier as we are stating to get Teams meetings and visits from staff at Broxburn Academy as the  start of our transition. Exciting times.

Have a great week ahead.

Primary 7 Weekly Blog

A great week in Primary 7. We completed our 3D pop-up cards  for our buddies in Primary 1. We are excited to give them to our buddies.

We began to draw angles, of a given size, this week. Mrs Andison challenged us to draw a Christmas tree using angles and recording what angles we used. Some of us even managed to draw a star from angles.

Thursday was our Christmas party an we had a great time. One of the best games was Shovel the Snowballs but it was exhausting!!!

Only 3 days left at school before we are off for the holidays.

Have a very Merry  Christmas  and enjoy the break.

From Primary 7 and Mrs Andison.

Thank You

Dear Parents, Grandparents and Carers

A massive thank you to each and every one of you for all the lovely gifts your amazing children gave me. You have all been so generous and I really appreciate it. It has been a crazy year for everyone.

I have loved this year with all of the Primary 7s and will miss them enormously.  I hope you all have a great summer with them before they  head off to high school.

Thanks again

Mrs Andison

Term 4 P.E. Days

Thank you for your support with school uniform and our new approach to P.E. kit.

We would request that on P.E. days children wear to school:

  • white polo shirt/ t-shirt – with school logo or plain or blue school P.E. t-shirt
  • blue sweatshirt/cardigan – with school logo or plain
  • P7 – black sweatshirt/cardigan
  • plain black tracksuit bottoms/ joggers
  • black trainers
  • girls who are wearing a skirt over their leggings can remove their skirt on P.E. days
  • we would recommend that children don’t wear their shirt and tie on their P.E. days

In order to continue with our inclusive ethos and promoting our school identity we would request that children don’t wear branded clothing. We also have nearly new school polo shirts and sweatshirts that can be purchased for a small donation.

On non P.E. days children should wear their normal school uniform (this does not include tracksuit bottoms, leggings – unless with a skirt or jeans).
