A huge thank you to Mrs Irvine-Holliday for taking some photos for us at Sports Day with her professional camera.
On Tuesday 4th June some pupils from P5, P6 & P7 attended the West Lothian Primary Triathlon at Deans CHS. The children had a great day! They had to swim, cycle and run as fast as they could with quick transitions between each activity. After the triathlon, they participated in some other fun activities including hammer throw and tug of war. Every child received a medal for their efforts and the school received a certificate. Well done to all who attended!
Here are some photos from the professional photographer of our Basketball Team at the West Lothian Wolves Play Offs.
A big well done to our basketball team in making it to the West Lothian Wolves playoffs on Friday. This is a huge achievement for our newly formed team!
Thank you to Mrs Hamilton who has passionately coached the basketball team and inspired the team to persevere, and to Mrs Ross for supporting the team on Friday.
Our basketball team recently won the White B Conference as part of the West Lothian Wolves Primary School league.
Our basketball team was a new addition to the school this year. These children give up their lunch times, after school and Friday afternoons to train and attend league games.
We are very proud of their perseverance, determination and grit in order to win their league.
To recognise this huge achievement, today we treated them to a pizza party! They enjoyed pizza, team chat and watching some NBA games.
A big thank you to their Coach, Mrs Hamilton who has been an inspirational and motivational coach for our team, and also to the children’s families for supporting them by taking them to the games.
Best of luck for your games on Friday!
Sports day will take place on Tuesday 21st May at 1:30pm, on the playing fields beside the school. Sports Day will include potted sports and traditional races. Children can come to school on Thursday dressed ready for Sports Day, please ensure no football colours are worn. We would also request that all children remember to bring their water bottle to school on that day so they can take it to the field with them. To join in with their team spirit we would request if possible children wear a top in their Pumphie Pals colour:
There will be an area on the field designated for families to spectate the events and we would request that parents/ carers please stay in this area. Dogs are not permitted at Sports Day. Please note, due to health and safety, there will be no access to the school for spectators. Due to photograph restrictions, we ask that you only take photographs of your own child/ children and ensure that no photos or videos of other children are taken, or posted on social media.
At the end of Sports Day, can we please request that all parents/ carers stay on the field until all the children have safely returned to the school building. Then we will open the playground and parents/ carers can collect their child from outside their classroom door.
Should we have to cancel due to the weather, we will Groupcall you by 11.00am on that day.
We look forward to you joining us for a fun and healthy afternoon!
Last week some of our children who are confident on the Pump Track volunteered (with permission from their parents) to take part in a publicity photo shoot for West Lothian Council.
Here are some of the photos below.
Remember! Safety first on the Pump Track, find some tips in this blog post.
