P3 Weekly Update
This week we have been developing our knowledge of how to use a 100 square. We wanted to learn how to use this properly as we realised that this would help us with a lot of our learning.
We also completed our second week of Fun Fitness Friday with James from Broxburn Athletic FC where we built on our knowledge of positive mental health and found out more about the importance of water.
P3 Weekly Update
This week we have been working on a new Literacy routine. This is where we have explored more active spelling tasks, reading with our friends, using our digital class library and many more literacy focused activities.
We created an Autumn wreath which we were able to put on show around our houses. We tried to make these from natural materials, however it didn’t quite work out that way!

This week in Primary 3 we have complete an expressive arts activity where we recreated Edinburgh Castle as part of our class topic. We completed a drawing activity where we drew the castle step by step. We then painted the scenery in the background using a picture from the smartboard for guidance.
We continued working on our knowledge of time – using o’clock, half past and quarter past. We worked in pairs to draw clocks to represent different times given from our partner.
P3 Weekly Update
This week have enjoyed learning more about our topic – ‘On Our Doorstep’. We continued our learning from last week where we learned about the different types of house within the local area. We used our plans to help us create a model house. We explored what the term ‘renewable energy’ was and what we could add to our houses to help them become more eco-friendly.
We added wind turbines, solar panels and a well.
P3 Weekly Update
This week we have been focusing on learning our common words. We have been completing active learning tasks to help us with doing this.
In numeracy, we have been focusing on our knowledge of number bonds using Numicon and number lines. In maths, we have been recapping our knowledge of time where we focused on telling o’clock and half past on an analogue clock. We used many interactive resources to help us with this.

Primary 3: Our Class Charter
Over the first two weeks of this session, we have been working hard on creating our class charter. We used the book ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ by Drew Daywalt as our inspiration.
By doing this, it allowed us to focus on the main purpose of the story which is to show an understanding of empathy, problem solving and inclusion. In other words, it showed the children how it feels to walk in another persons shoes as each of the crayons shows the emotions of people which they can relate to.
We focused on the important role that the UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) plays in their lives and chose certain rights that we felt linked to our life in school. Our charter makes reference to Rights Holders (children) and Duty Bearers (adults) as you can see from the charter display.
Primary 3 Weekly Update
This week in Primary 3 we have been getting used to our classroom surroundings, routines and showing off our learning from Primary 2.
We have focused on our listening skills over week 1 and 2 where we have used the Teaching Children to Listen resources. These resources have been uploaded onto our Seesaw page for you to try the games at home.
Every child has been provided with their Seesaw and Sumdog log in this week which will allow them to access this at home.

P6 Weekly Update
This week we were lucky to receive a visit from the Scottish Parliament education department. We were able to share the information we had learnt this term alongside some inside facts about the Parliament itself. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and were grateful to have the opportunity to engage fully in the different, interactive activities.
We had our assembly this week, which we really enjoyed sharing with the whole school and parents/carers. We hope you enjoyed hearing about our learning and we will keep you posted on who wins the election!
