P2 This Week (17.6.19)

We enjoyed taking part in Fitness Fortnight this week. Zach really enjoyed the football, Sophia enjoyed Judo and Bootcamp and Holly liked running around the field- she is going to try and do better next week when we do our Fun Run. Everyone had fun taking part in Sports Day. Yesterday, Mrs Brown led the school in exercise to music, which was great fun. We liked wearing our own clothes to school for a change. Maddie really liked designing a disgusting sandwich to scare away the seagulls- just like Mrs Grinling in the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch! We also watched the Lunch Bunch which was fun learning too!

P1b Learning Reflection for W/E 14.06.19

Poppy – I liked doing the assembly, I was a caterpillar. The singing part was good, I like the caterpillar song.

Hiba – My assembly was my highlight because the song is cool.

Austin – I liked the one planet picnic. We had snacks with no litter or waste. I had my snack in a box.

Teria –  I liked maths this week. We are learning about directions. We can communicate with the beebot so that it goes to the left and right and forward and backwards.

Charley – I liked the assembly. I liked wearing the butterfly wings. It was about the life cycle of a butterfly. First a butterfly lays an egg on a leaf then a caterpillar hatches out. It eats its egg shell then leaves. Then it makes a chrysalis and turns into a butterfly.

Solomia – I like wearing the hats in assembly. I had an egg on a leaf for the assembly.

James – I liked our assembly because it was about the life cycle of a butterfly. My favourite part is the song. We had hats on, I was a caterpillar.

Nicholas – I love assembly. I was an egg on a leaf.

Subhan – I liked the one planet picnic.  We had healthy stuff, I had carrot and grapes.

Sushanth – I liked the assembly. I got three speaking parts. I said, we like to call ourselves caterpillars. My second one is, but then we start to have so many problems, our skill feels too small and our body feels too big. The last one is, this is the third stage the pupa stage!

Alister – I liked the assembly. Because we were all saying our words and everybody got a part. Our mummies and daddies and grannies and grandads came to see it.

Lewis – I liked the assembly. I was caterpillar 5!

Kaelan – I liked the P1 assembly. I liked the hungry caterpillar story. I told everyone about a chrysalis and then it popped out with a beautiful butterfly.

Christian – We did our assembly. I said thank you for being a quality audience!

P2 This Week-7/6/19

We enjoyed performing at the assembly. We liked doing the mini beasts song and the butterfly song. We worked hard to learn our speaking parts. At first we were  a little bit nervous, but then it was okay. Everyone like what they were doing. In writing we finished our storyboards about Mr Grinling. We learned about Grace Darling and how she saved nine people during a stormy night and looked after them in her lighthouse. We watched the lunch-bunch and learned about healthy eating. We have been learning about asking questions using question words and question marks. We continued to learn about division. We also made graphs and asked questions of each other about the information on the graph.

This week in P6…

This week in P6 we went to a jobs fair to see what job we want to do when we are older. They had virtual reality that took you around Scotland. They also had a simulator which you are a construction worker working a digger. They also had CPR dummy’s and breathing apparatus’s. We could make lemonade and draw candy shops. We also had a visitor today. She told us all about her job as a dresser and her childhood. She told us what plays she wanted to do and showed us some videos about it. She also showed us her art and told us about the actors she met. We had a very fun week.

P2 trip to Amazonia!

Primary 2 took a walk on the wild side this week when we visited ‘Amazonia’ as part of our science topic about mini beasts. We saw lots of exotic animals – monkeys, parrots, frogs, tarantulas, butterflies and more! We enjoyed watching the amazing leaf cutter ants hard at work and holding Milkshake the snake during our animal handling session!
