This week, some of P6 met the residents of Livingston Care Home on Wednesday afternoon, along with Mr McCallum-McKay. This was a good chance to have a chat and discuss what we have all been up to.
Some P6 students also got to meet their nursery buddies on Thursday, and were really excited to see them again!
P6 were asked about what a good speech looks and sounds like. After discussions and comparing videos, we created a list of dos and don’ts and used this to present our own individual speeches on a topic of our choice.
This week, groups of P6 students presented their math strategy to the rest of the class. The students were then in charge of teaching their strategy at one of our math stations. Great job done by all! 
Primary 6 were enjoying the sun this week while creating a mini presentation which tells us any unique information about them that we may not already know.
Primary 6 enjoying Numeracy Day while getting involved in our big Math circuit – Tessellation, problem solving, compass directions, shape, mental maths, four functions and IT in maths.
P6 spent the afternoon working with the P3 students. Their task was to accurately measure the owl seating area for the workmen, as well as making art by using the natural materials found in the garden.
Here are some photos of the children in Group 2 having fun at archery. It was lovely to see everyone’s sportsmanship as they supported their peers in learning this new sport. By the end of our session, everyone’s skills had improved and we even had a number of bullseyes! The children were quite surprised to see how competitive Mrs Clyne can be and even she managed to achieve a few bullseyes.
Some of Primary 6 have been given the chance to take part in our weekly chess club with our instructor, Tom.

This week we used reading routes as part of our comprehension. We were focusing on summarising. Our story was based around a dragon named Shaa.
Primary 6 have been playing Futsal this term. This takes place every Wednesday.
