P3 – Thursday 30.04.2020

Good morning Primary 3,

I hope you are all well and had a great day yesterday.

Here is the Maths work I would like you to do today:

Fraction-cut-and-paste-number-line[1]

There are three number lines, I would like you to cut out the fractions and stick them onto the number lines in the correct order. Any fraction with a zero on the top half (numerator) will mean that it is worth zero e.g. – 0/2 is zero. This applies to the other end of the line too, if they have the same number on the top and bottom (denominator) then it is one full e.g. 2/2 is worth one.

Please look at the step by step guide I have created for you to help you understand where to place the fractions and work out what is missing:

Step by step guide for fractions on a number line

Then I would like you to fill in the missing fractions on the number lines on this worksheet:

t-n-4892-missing-fractions-on-a-number-line-worksheet-_ver_1

I have also found some wonderful online games to help you with your fractions which will give you lots of practice:

https://www.sheppardsoftware.com/mathgames/fractions/AnimalRescueFractionsNumberLineGame.htm

This is a game to fine the fraction on a number line and will help support the work you are doing today.

This game above is about matching the fractions so they weigh the same on the scales.

I will also be sending out some handwriting practice later on, as I know some of you have completed the handwriting practice that was sent home with you in the pack.

Have a wonderful day,

Mrs Love
