P2/1 Weekly Learning Reflection week ending 21st February 2020

Hope you all had a good long weekend. This week in Literacy P1 have been practising our long vowel sounds and the tricky words she, go and be. We wrote words, built words on our magnetic boards and played roll and read. P2 have continued to focus on tricky words. We looked for them in a word search, made them on magnetic boards, played bingo and wrote them in bubble writing.  In numeracy this week P1 have been learning about halving. We made halves with shapes and worked out halves of numbers. P2 have been working on subtracting when crossing 10. We used ten frames and number lines to help us. For IDL we created our superhero names. We also discussed what materials would be the best for our costumes. On Friday we went to our reflection assembly where we shared our worry bags.  Here are a few of the children’s reflections:

“I enjoyed the assembly and sharing my worry bag.”

“I liked the song about how bad times won’t last.”

“I enjoyed assembly when my class mates were sharing their worry bags.”

“I enjoyed speaking at assembly and sharing my worry bag with everyone.”

“I enjoyed the reflection assembly.”

“I found it tricky learning the oy sound.”

“I liked P.E and our team building games.”

“I enjoyed P.E too.”

“I enjoyed doing our tricky word learning.”

P6 this week- 21.2.20

This week we have revised our learning about fractions and learned to turn a mixed number into an improper fraction as well as comparing fractions. We continued to work on our shale trail projects and planned our information report writing about shale.

We made great progress with rehearsing for our show- Pirates of the Curry Bean! Keep up the good work with learning your parts:)

Quickest Week Ever for P4!

Lots of maths again this week. We are working on division using an exchange, partitioning, or whole-part models.

We have recapped on the information we learned about  Victorian Life from Mrs Liddel’s visit last week. We have focussed on school life in class.

We have completed a second draft of our Procedure writing, making lots of improvements.

O – I enjoyed the maths yesterday. I enjoyed how it was challenging. It was division.

L – I enjoyed the assembly to see how other people’s worries go away when you say them out loud.

H – I enjoyed when we drew a worry bag yesterday. It helped to get the worries out of your head.

L – I enjoyed the bake sale today.

F – I liked learning about Victorian Schools because I didn’t know about it before. It was interesting about the dunce hat.

L – I liked the writing we did about making a recipe for shortbread.

J – I liked the bake sale.
