P2/1 Learning Reflection Week Ending 13th December 2019

In Literacy P1 have been continuing to revise all of set 1 sounds. We have written words to match pictures and played roll and read. P2 have learned the ‘tious’ or ‘cious’ sound. We wrote words on whiteboards and looked for them in a word search. In writing, we wrote a letter to Santa. In Numeracy this week P1 continued to explore subtraction. We have played four in a row and used Numicon to help find the difference. P2 continued to explore place value using the base 10 materials. We continued with rolling a double dice, writing down that number then splitting it into tens and ones. In P.E we did a Christmas themed yoga. We had our Star of the Week circle time. Gabriel is our star of the week. In art we made split pin Christmas puppets. On Tuesday and Wednesday we performed our nativity Fishing for Stars. We thoroughly enjoyed performing in front of an audience. Miss Maclachlan is very proud of us for our fantastic performances. Here are a few of the children’s reflections:

P2 Learning Reflection for W/E 13.12.19

Isaac – I enjoyed doing numbertalks we are breaking each number into its place value. So for 21+32 the 21 has two tens and the 32 has three tens and so add two tens and three tens that makes five tens that’s 50. 21 has 1 one and 32 has 2 ones that makes 3 ones. So 50+3= 53.
