It has been a very busy few weeks in P3/2C. We have been learning lots about our new topic Food and Farming. We even paired up with a farm in Stafford shire and had a Skype chat with Katie the farmer where she answered our questions and showed us around the farm. She even sent us the winning rosettes that her Border Leicester sheep won.
It is also maths week this week and we have been taking part in many different activities to support our addition skills. What a fab and very busy week.
Thanks to all our visitors at our Open Afternoon. We had a great time showing them different Literacy activities to help improve our spelling, writing and reading comprehension. We will be developing these skills throughout the year and look forward to sharing with you again.
We have been very busy in Primary 4 thinking all about the new rules. They are much easier to remember. Then we used them to make our class charter. We each drew ourselves to put on the board. It will help us remember to always be,
Ready, to Respect others and to be Safe.
Primary 3D have been exploring a range of media to create props for a shadow puppet performance. The created storyboards to recreate the story of the Iron Man by Ted Hughes and used different objects and materials to bring the story to life. We all had a great time working together to create these pieces, well done everyone.
On Monday all the Primary 4’s went to the Partnership Centre in East Calder to celebrate the completion of the Artwork being displayed. Back in November we were asked to take part in the design process with artists from Bespoke Atelier. We helped them by discussing and designing our own bags which were used as inspiration. The artwork has now been installed in the Centre and we were given the opportunity to view it and share in some refreshments.
We had a great time making our Smoothies. We talked about how healthy they were to eat. We also used the bike to discuss what we had learned about forces and how they were moving the wheels and then the blade of the blender. Very yummy smoothies!!!
We have been exploring magnets and forces and now are working collaboratively to design a game that shows our learning. We will then create a power point to share our knowledge with the rest of the class.
Well done to Primary 3D for their fantastic performance this morning at the assembly. They have learned so much about Ancient Egypt and were excited to share their learning with the rest of the school. Their hard work definitely paid off this morning! Enjoy your well deserved long weekend!
P1 have been enjoying maths week!
Today was also Roald Dahl day and we had fun sorting ‘The Enormous Crocodile’ from shortest to longest.
We made crocodiles by colouring, cutting and sticking.
Posting the correct number of straws into the envelopes. 
We liked playing the subitising game together.
