Thank you.
Welcome back Primary 3!
It’s lovely to have you back in school and begin to get to know you all.
You have been listening carefully to all the new instructions and you have enjoyed seeing and enjoying playing with your friends again. Well Done!
Our PE lessons with Mr Millar will start next week. It would help if you can wear gym clothes under your uniform if possible.

Dear parents/carers,I hope you are all well 🙂It was lovely to meet those of you who were able to come along to our Transition Visit in June. It’s not too long until we meet you all again and welcome our new Primary 1 pupils to school. As promised please find a link below to a video of our school. We hope you will be able to share it with your child and watch it together. Hopefully it will make things a little more familiar to them when they start school in August. Our classrooms are not completely set up yet and our teachers will be making the finishing touches soon, however we hope that the video gives you and your child an idea of how the classrooms and areas where you child will play and learn will look in Primary 1 at East Calder Primary School. The link to the Sway and Video is below:Once you click on the link it should take you to our ‘Sway’. Then just click on the ‘Play’ button in the top right corner – there is a short written message and then a video for you and your child to watch together.
Happy holidays everyone! Thank you for all your amazing efforts during this time and throughout the year. You have worked so hard and you have been very resilient during lockdown. it has been so lovely to talk to you over the phone and it was great to see so many of you yesterday. Thank you to all of you who have up your time to come and see Miss Walkingshaw and I in the playground.
Here are a few final photos from this week. Have a lovely summer everyone and I look forward to seeing you in August when you are all big Primary 3 pupils! You are all amazing and I am so proud of you.
Love from Miss Marra
You were really enjoying your Maths this week. You have really developed your confidence in Maths this year and you are smashing those missing number sums. Well done for all your hard work!
You look so proud of your Roman shield. I can see you worked so hard on this and it was lovely to see photos of you making it. You seemed to really enjoy the process and look at the result. Well done!
After many years as a Nursery Nurse at ECPS Mrs O’Neill is now retiring. Some of us visited Mrs O’Neill today to hand over the many cards, gifts and pictures that have been handed in by both families and staff members. She really was overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity. I’m sure you would all join me in wishing Mrs O a very long and happy retirement.
We will have a few new faces in school after the summer. Please have a look at our staff team to learn these new people and to remind yourself of some familiar staff members too!
