Super Writers in P3R

We have had  a successful start to the new term in P3R with some super writing!

This week we were listening to Chapter 1 in the story of ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes.

We have been writing about what we think would happen next in the story.

We used our target checklist to peer assess our partner’s work and gave them positive feedback.

We also have been thinking about our next steps in writing for this term. Some of us are working on spelling, punctuation or vocabulary.

We can’t wait to find out what happens next in the story.

Primary 7/6C and Primary 7S- Competition

West Lothian Council Museums are putting on an exhibition to commemorate World War 2. This term Primary 7S and Primary 7/6C are learning about key events from the 20th Century, including World War 2.

We would like to invite pupils to submit a model of a WW2 shelter as an entry in our Build an Anderson Shelter competition. The best model will be included in the exhibition. The base of the model should be between A4 and A3 in size and it can be made of any material. There will be a small prize for the winning entry. Please send photos of your entries by the end of May to museums@westlothian.gov.uk

Please support your child to practise these sounds at home.

P5J Outdoor Learning

Primary 5J have been enjoying learning about quadrilaterals and triangles outside. We can now identify and talk about rhombus, parallelograms, trapeziums, as well as, isosceles and equilateral triangles.  We enjoyed making these shapes with our bodies to prove that we could remember their key features and differences.

Primary 1

Welcome back Primary 1!

We have had a very busy week learning to tell the time.  We are learning to tell the time to the hour and the half hour.

We have also been doing some lovely writing, working hard to remember finger spaces and to sound out our words.

On Monday we are all off to East Calder Library to choose new books, fingers crossed for good weather!
