Article 29: We have the right to develop our talents and abilities.

P2M and P2W Notice Board

Dear Parents/Carers,

In P2, we have been learning the sh, th, ch, wh and qu sounds in Phonics. We are now learning the ai and ay sound (e.g. paint, play) and some pupils have been practising CVC words (e.g. mat, jug, lid). Please support your child to read and write sounds with these words at home.

The children now all have tricky words to practise at home. Please support your child to read and write these words and they will be updated on  regular basis to meet the needs of your child. This task will also regularly be included on the homework grid.

P2M and P2W Sharing the Learning will take place on Monday 2nd December 2019 from 2pm -3pm. You will receive a letter over the next few weeks with more details about this event.

Please also ensure that your child brings their reading book and yellow diary to school every day to allow them to fully participate in learning activities with their group.

Thank you for your continued support.

Primary 7/6L Remembrance

As part of our learning about Remembrance Day and the Poppy Primary 7/6L will be working alongside the British Legion today to learn more about the poppy as a symbol for remembrance. We will be working in class to learn more about veterans from our local area before visiting East Calder Cemetery to lay poppies (weather dependent). Please remember we will be selling poppies in school all week this week to support the Scottish Poppy Appeal.

P3R Homework

P3R enjoyed our Homework carousel today when we get walk round and share all the things we have done on our homework grid. We had super number work, fantastic pictures and some really spooky stories!

We put some of the stories in a big class book so others can enjoy reading them!

Great work P3R!

Primary 5/4C Homework

A fantastic piece of homework came in today all about Resilience. This P4 pupil combined literacy skills with our Health & Wellbeing Resilience outcome, using features of a comic strip to describe how this person in his life had inspired him with their resilience in the face of adversity.   Great work!
