P7 Farewell

We would like to invite Primary 7 parents and carers to join us for tea and coffee as a final farewell on Friday morning from 11.50, before piping the children out round the quad before they leave. Hope to see you all there. Miss Conner and Mrs Stewart.

Early Morning Fun

Article 31 – Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a range of cultural and artistic activities.

Some children from Primary 3-5 were enjoying early morning races with Miss Brown in the playground from 8.30 this morning.

What a great start to the day!

P4 visit to Partnership Centre

On Monday all the Primary 4’s went to the Partnership Centre in East Calder to celebrate the completion of the Artwork being displayed.  Back in November we were asked to take part in the design process with artists from Bespoke Atelier.  We helped them by discussing and designing our own bags which were used as inspiration.  The artwork has now been installed in the Centre and we were given the opportunity to view it and share in some refreshments.

P3R Health week

We had a great start to Health Week last Friday with the Super Half Marathon. Thank you to everyone who has returned sponsor money.

We had super weather for our Sports Day on Monday.

On Tuesday we were learning about why some people have to take medicines and the importance of using medicines safely.

On Wednesday we got to taste the smoothies we made by cycling on the Smoothie bike!

And finally on Thursday got to work on our football and rugby skills.

We  can talk about why exercise and fitness are important for our bodies and we had a lot of fun in Health Week!

P4S Football

We were learning to dribble with the ball and play games to improve our skills.  Then we worked with partners to try to dribble the ball to each other.  After that we played a game of cat & mouse.  The cat had to run around the circle and get back to its space while the mouse had to try to steal the balls.  At the end we had to play a match against each other.  We had a great time and it showed us different ways to improve our fitness.

Additional In-Service Days

The Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills proposed providing teachers with two additional in-service days in the academic year to support professional learning.  At West Lothian’s Education Executive yesterday, the additional in service days of Tuesday 20th August 2019 and Monday 6th January 2020 were approved.

PLEASE NOTE THAT SCHOOLS AND NURSERIES WILL NOW OPEN TO ALL PUPILS ON WEDNESDAY 20TH AUGUST AND NOT TUESDAY 20TH AUGUST AS PREVIOUSLY INTIMATED.
