Fantastic Work P2W!

Morning P2W,

Thank you for sending me your amazing learning from home. You have been working really hard and I am super impressed with all of the work I have seen! I have attached some examples of our amazing learning that has been happening at home.

Please keep sending in all of your hard work so I can share it for everyone to see!

Stay home and stay safe,

Miss Walkingshaw

Super work P3R!

Thank you very much P3R for sending me some more of your super work.

I am  so impressed at all the amazing things you have been doing at home. Designing a safety poster, planning a picnic, making games, reading, writing, cycling a new bike … and learning to sew buttons on!

We even had a special great granny getting a lovely, safe visit for her 90th birthday!  How wonderful!

You are all keeping busy, being kind, staying safe and learning some new skills.

I am so proud of all of you!

You can contact me by emailing your work or photos to the school web site address.

Remember there is a Sumdog competition on at the moment, and keep trying the Collins Big Cat reading books.

I love to see what you have all been doing.

Take care and stay safe.

The Great Science Share – Week 2

How did you get on last week? Did you get a chance to listen to and identify the birds around you?

I’ve been trying to talk to the wood pigeon that sits on my roof – coo – COO – coo – coo – coo – coo, (yes I think being at home is making me slightly coo – coo.)

This week we are celebrating the 200th birthday of The Royal Astronomical Society which should inspire you to think about space, the universe, stars and planets.  What are the questions you want to investigate this week?

How is a meteorite formed?

Will we ever be able to live on other planets?

What would a world without gravity be like?

What did the Hubble Space Telescope see on your birthday?

Can you make a rocket at home?

Is there something else you would like to investigate or make?

Share your investigations with me on your Teams page or email them into school. You can write, draw, take pictures of what you have done, make a poster, anything you like.

Have a look on The Great Science Share website if you’d like some other ideas and resources:

Have fun stargazers!

We are delighted that we now have access to Collins Big Cat Reading scheme.

Reading is so important to your child’s development. We would encourage everyone to try read a little every day, especially if you are finding it a challenge to get your child to complete work at home.

This is a whole school reading programme that provides support for primary reading.

Our pupils will be able to access hundreds of high quality fiction and non- fiction banded books by award- winning authors and illustrators.

There are also activities at the end of each book and resources for you to try if you wish.

Each book is read aloud but if your child would prefer to read by themselves click on the pause button.

Your child’s teacher will advise a colour of level for your child to start reading.
