Lockdown Painted Stones

A massive ‘THANK YOU’ to our secret helpers who came in to the school playground last Friday to cement down the beautiful painted stones which our pupils and their families did during Lockdown.  We were delighted to see the finished result and are sure that you will agree that they have done a fantastic job. On behalf of everyone at East Calder Primary School THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Your help is much appreciated 🙂

Here are some of the photos of our COVID Snake which can be found in the P1-2 playground.

Wearing face coverings

Following on from the new guidance issued, face coverings will be worn by adults in school when they are in communal areas shared with pupils.

We ask that parents and carers still continue to wear face coverings when collecting children from the school grounds. Thank you for your support.

London Mini Marathon Challenge

We did it!

A massive congratulations to all the pupils for completing this challenge. The children showed determination and resilience while running their laps. Some individuals where even able to go beyond 2.6 miles!

Each class was presented with a certificate to keep in their room as a reminder of their achievement.

Well done!

London Mini Marathon Challenge

This week, classes are taking part in the London Mini Marathon Challenge. It involves jogging or running 2.6 miles across two weeks from the 28th of September until Friday the 9th of October. In PE, students have been developing their stamina and the Mini Marathon is a great opportunity for them to apply their knowledge and embrace the challenge.

Please check back after the 9th to see how the classes got on!

More information can be found at:  https://www.virginmoneylondonmarathon.com/mini-marathon/home.html

(Please note that we are not completing this challenge as a fundraising event just for fun!)

Well done in PE

Thank you for all your hard work completing all the PE tasks during home learning. Although it wasn’t the normal Health Week,  Sports week and East Calder Marathon, I am so proud of how you accepted the challenge of PE home learning.

I hope that you have an active and fun summer. I can’t wait to see you in August and hear all about your summer adventures.

PE Home Learning – 22nd June

Good morning everyone,

For PE this week, we will be taking part in the Youth Sport Trust’s National Sports Week. There are five different categories of activities and challenges. You can pick what categories and what activities you take part in. I recommend doing at least one activity a day as well as getting outside for walks, jogs, cycles or scoots.

I love seeing your learning so don’t forget to let me know how you got on.
