Halloween Discos

Two of our P7 pupils made some posters at home to advertise our Halloween Discos. These are now displayed in our school.

We are looking forward to seeing many of our pupils tonight for the Halloween Discos. Thanks to our parents from our Parent Staff Council for organising this fundraising event for the pupils of East Calder Primary School.

Please remember that we ask that children do not wear masks or bring props/weapons with them to the discos.

Thank you 🙂

Primary 7S

P7S have had a fantastic week back after the October holiday. We have been working on a class writing project – we will reveal all soon; have been completing our work on shape and symmetry from last term by challenging ourselves using some tricky symmetry patterns; we have been developing our tennis skills in P.E with Mr Millar and Miss Morrison has been teaching us about emergency first aid (we hope we don’t need to use it).

We have a busy term ahead, keep an eye on the blog for our updates.

Primary 7S

Busy Busy in P7S!

Primary 7S have been very busy over the last few weeks! We have been learning about Money with Mr Kellock who has been visiting us from West Calder High School; Mr McInnes visited our classroom and ran a workshop on light photography; we learned about Showing Racism the Red Card with Derek and Chris, then wore red on Friday the 4th October to show our support for reducing racism. We have also been enjoying play in P7 and during Fun Time Friday we had the opportunity to play in our school nurture room, we had great fun! Some of us are feeling very proud to have been given a House Captain or Vice Captain job and we are looking forward to the duties we will undertake in this role.

We have also been celebrating wider achievements in P7S and a few of our classmates have been participating in swimming competitions and Taekwondo championships – have a look at their photographs below.

Primary 7/6L Famous Americans

Primary 7/6L have been working on taking notes and using them to create a new piece of text in their own words. As part of our Interdisciplinary learning context on the wider world (USA) we have been learning about Key American figures including leaders, scientists and famous actors and singers. We then used our notes to create a biography using a piece of software called comic life.

Here are  some of our results!
