Primary 1

P1 Starting School

Primary 1 have had a super start to school this week. They have been settling in well, learning all of our routines, and making new friends. We worked hard in the gym with Mr Miller, and our gym days this term will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Mrs Robertson came to class on Thursday. We listened to a story and pretended to be tigers. We had our first assembly today and watched it on the Smartboard.

Please bring a water bottle to class every day and remember your morning snack. Many thanks.

Welcome back from The Hive

We hope all our families had a lovely summer holiday. Mrs Grieve and Mr Fazakerley are so proud of the way our returning children came back into school today. So confident and happy to be back! We were also delighted to have our 2 new Primary 1 boys join us, who both had a fantastic first day!!

Primary 1 had a super last week and enjoyed spending time with their buddies. Everyone has worked hard and have shown they are ready to move into P2.

Oyster catcher chicks

Our resident oyster catchers have nested again this year and have had 2 chicks! Our pupils have been learning how to be respectful and responsible around them and are enjoying watching them grow and develop at break times.

Bike Stunt Team Display

Thank you so much to Ian and Brett from the 3Sixty Bicycle Stunt Team for visiting us today. Our P1-7 pupils and staff loved the display and were amazed at some of the stunts!

Primary 1

Primary 1a enjoyed sharing their learning in our school assembly. It was all about Fairyland. They loved dressing up as a dragon,knights, kings , queens and fairytale characters. They read all their parts beautifully, included a fairytale quiz and performed a great action song at the end. Great work!

The children also had fun at a judo session on Wednesday. Look at our moves!

By the end of a busy week , we were all treated to an exciting BMX bike display. Our hearts were in our mouths watching some of their jaw-dropping stunts!

Jubilee Celebrations

This morning Primary 1 enjoyed a picnic on the field to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.

We made flags and crowns in class and took them out with us. After our picnic we played games, explored the woods and then played with the parachute!

Goodbye Mr McDermott

Our lovely Education Officer is leaving to take up a new post. The boys and girls in The Hive always enjoyed his visits so we made him a card and he popped down to see us on Wednesday. Good luck in your new job Mr McDermott! We’ll miss you.
