Super Writers in P3R

We have had  a successful start to the new term in P3R with some super writing!

This week we were listening to Chapter 1 in the story of ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes.

We have been writing about what we think would happen next in the story.

We used our target checklist to peer assess our partner’s work and gave them positive feedback.

We also have been thinking about our next steps in writing for this term. Some of us are working on spelling, punctuation or vocabulary.

We can’t wait to find out what happens next in the story.

P2 Phonics

We are continuing to work hard in Phonics and we have been learning compound words this week e.g. football, corkscrew etc. We will be moving on to soft c and soft g words over the next few weeks e.g. page, cell.  We will engaging in a range of learning activities to practise reading and writing words with these sounds. Please support your child to practise these sounds at home.

Thank you for your continued support.

We have had a very busy week learning to tell the time.  We are learning to tell the time to the hour and the half hour.

We have also been doing some lovely writing, working hard to remember finger spaces and to sound out our words.

On Monday we are all off to East Calder Library to choose new books, fingers crossed for good weather!
