We hope all our families had a lovely summer holiday. Mrs Grieve and Mr Fazakerley are so proud of the way our returning children came back into school today. So confident and happy to be back! We were also delighted to have our 2 new Primary 1 boys join us, who both had a fantastic first day!!

Primary 1
Primary 1 had a super last week and enjoyed spending time with their buddies. Everyone has worked hard and have shown they are ready to move into P2.

Oyster catcher chicks
Our resident oyster catchers have nested again this year and have had 2 chicks! Our pupils have been learning how to be respectful and responsible around them and are enjoying watching them grow and develop at break times.
Bike Stunt Team Display
Thank you so much to Ian and Brett from the 3Sixty Bicycle Stunt Team for visiting us today. Our P1-7 pupils and staff loved the display and were amazed at some of the stunts!
Primary 1
Primary 1a enjoyed sharing their learning in our school assembly. It was all about Fairyland. They loved dressing up as a dragon,knights, kings , queens and fairytale characters. They read all their parts beautifully, included a fairytale quiz and performed a great action song at the end. Great work!
The children also had fun at a judo session on Wednesday. Look at our moves!
By the end of a busy week , we were all treated to an exciting BMX bike display. Our hearts were in our mouths watching some of their jaw-dropping stunts!
What an achievement! East Calder Gala Week
What a haul of medals and trophies! Not only did you win the 7-12 boys Gala Race you also came second in the older 12-15 category. Great to see your name on the football trophy as player of the tournament. Congratulations a great achievement!

5K Marathon Champ!
Congratulations for running your first 5k marathon. You competed in a race with 18 year olds but still managed to be the 24th girl to cross the line and placed 84th out of a 160 people,amazing! This was some achievement coupled with the fact you raised over £400 for a charity. We are all so proud of you!
