P6A were harnessing their ICT skills today and creating some amazing pieces of work. We cannot wait to present them and learn from each other!
For our Future Me hub today, we worked in teams to plan and construct the tallest tower out of the materials given to us. We had to appoint a leader, work together and reflect on the whole process.
The older pupils helped the younger pupils to identify their skills and listened to their contributions during the planning process. We discussed what we would do differently next time, what worked well and even what roles we would like if we did it again (to play to our strengths). We had a clear winner; their tower stayed standing for a full 5 minutes, towering above them! Well done to everyone who participated.
Here are a few action shots from the Girls P6 & P7 Football Festival. We had a great opportunity to learn some new skills, meet some famous female footballers and show how talented we are. What an amazing, inspirational day we all had at Livingstone football stadium.
We have started to research the main political parties in the U.K. and Scotland, discussing Scotland’s devolved powers and researching the features of democracy.
Watch out for some of our manifestos, flyers, speeches and persuasive language; we will be holding our own P6A elections! After watching some party political broadcasts, we are going to make our own! We formed and named the following parties:
The Scottish Considerate Party; The Scottish Youth Party (SYP); Scottish Wildlife Party (SWP); Scottish Violet Party (SVP); Save the Ocean Party (STO).
The parties are yet to appoint leaders, stay tuned for the announcement of our election date, party policies and voting papers. Make your vote count!
We explored the lines of symmetry in our alphabet and a range of 2D shapes, then we have fun applying our understanding to create and complete some symmetrical pictures.
What an amazing term it has been with an amazing bunch! We ended this term on a positive note, talking about how our thoughts influence our feelings, which then influence our behaviour. Here are some of our paper chain reactions. #positivityrules
